Cindy Mecsey started her nursing career at Providence Hospital in 1980 in med-surg and cardiac care. She moved to Cranbrook with her husband Tom and three children in 1989. Cindy has since served as the school nurse at Kingswood. In her role of nurse, Cindy found herself becoming very involved in the lives of the Kingswood boarding students. She writes that she has always stressed the importance of feeling comfortable to see the nurses regarding any and all health problems.
Cindy loves the beauty of the buildings and landscaping that the campus provides. She has often referred students to go for a walk around Kingswood Lake for peace and solitude when needed. Her advice for students as they journey through high school is to “take life one day at a time, listen to your body, and rest when you feel you need to rest.”
Cindy has provided support, guidance, and often a good hug to the Kingswood upper school students. She has been a great asset to the Cranbrook community, and we are so glad to have her here!
