Jyotee Nagarkar
Jyotee Nagarkar came to Kingswood in 1973 and was part of Cranbrook Schools for 36 years before retiring in 2009.

Nagarkar earned his Ph.D. from Wayne State University and his bachelor's and master's degrees from Bombay University. He has also received diplomas from the Sorbonne in Paris.

Nagarkar headed the Upper School Foreign Language Department for 20 years and is a member of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. He was the faculty advisor for the India Club and coached fitness and walking. Outside of school, Nagarkar enjoys travel and photography.

Bonjour!! Je vois Paris en Septembre 2005 and je parle francais avec les autres en Paris. Je pense que je travaille plus francais comme je parle tres bien, mais non. Mercie pour l'ecole en francais and je pense plus grand que toi. Probably really screwed that up but thanks for being a great teacher and I wished I had gone to Europe sooner after high school so my French would have been better..but none the less..I think I was about 60% fluent..with the dictionary..LOL..Thanks for being so great!! I enjoyed Dr. Nagarkar's classes the most...he was able to engage his students better than others.
