For 24 years, Lois Chapman integrated her successful singing career into her work at Kingswood.
As a young woman, Chapman sang with several opera companies and later toured the country singing with a group promoting Steinway pianos.
In 1941, she arrived at Kingswood and became an advisor of the glee club. Chapman is remembered by students for her direction of many performances of Gilbert and Sullivan operas.
A talented and energetic woman, Chapman eventually retired and spent her final days near the Gulf of California.
