Thomas Burgess has worn many hats at Cranbrook Schools, including acting academic dean of Upper School, head of Boys' Middle School, dean of boys, Middle School mathematics coordinator and sixth-grade team leader.

Burgess received the Excellence in Teaching Award in 1992 and the President's Award for Excellence in 2002.

Burgess is also a Michigan licensed residential builder and a YMCS National Swimming Official.

He lives off campus with his wife, Linda; daughter, Kristen; and son, Aaron.
